Vernard R. Walker, 61, a former resident of Putnam County died suddenly of a heart attack Tuesday at his home on South Mud Lane, Macy, Ind R 2.  He had been a resident of the Macy community for about 10 years and before that he resided in Mexico, Indiana.  Mr. Walker was born April 24, 1905 at Cloverdale, the son of George P. Walker and Maria Elizabeth Whitaker Walker. On Aug 18, 1936, he was married to Kathleen Mayrose. He was a member of the Cloverdale Christian Church, Rochester Moose Lodge, Logansport Eagles Lodge, Cloverdale Masonic and Eastern Star Lodges. Surviving are the wife; one daughter, Mary Rose Walker of Mooresville; one sister, Mrs. Georgia Marie Longden of Kokomo and two nephews, Herman Walker and Robert Keith Walker, both of Cloverdale.  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. EST, Thursday at the Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home in Rochester, Indiana.  The Rev. Donald Lahbert will officiate.  Burial will be in the Cloverdale Cemetery where graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. EST.  – kbz
